The choice of spacious and comfortable cars for a large family in the US market is huge, and it is hard to decide which one suits you best.
For those looking for a reliable used minivan in Indianapolis, we have prepared a review of a great option – the Chrysler Pacifica.
The new-generation Chrysler Pacifica is a minivan presented in January 2016, at the Detroit Auto Show. The car turned out to be a full-fledged novelty, not the ideological successor of the model of the same name produced from 2003 to 2008.
In the line of the American brand, the car replaced the Town & Country, standing on the conveyor of the enterprise in Windsor, Canada. The start of sales was not long in coming – the van appeared on the US market in the spring of 2016.
Chrysler Pacifica has everything to be called the best car for a family of seven or eight:
The Chrysler Pacifica has above-average reliability rates – a 3.5 out of 5.0. Its average annual repair cost is rather pricey, but a well-maintained Pacifica can last over 200,000 miles.
The Chrysler Pacifica is a formidable contender of the Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey, and Dodge Grand Caravan. Find out more about vehicles of this class available for sale in Indianapolis.
Despite high quality and reliability, some model years are reported to have the following problems:
The Chrysler Pacifica looks stylish and dynamic. The designers decided to make it in the style of the Chrysler 200 sedan. The front end is formed by elongated headlights with elegant LED DRL piping, lensed optics, and a compact radiator grille. The latter has a fine-mesh structure, while its edges are closely adjacent to the headlights.
The Chrysler Pacifica minivan front bumper has a massive trapezoidal air intake and side sections with round foglights. All elements are neatly accentuated with chrome trim. In profile, the Pacifica is recognizable for its long nose and the negative slope of the C-pillar.
Such design tricks visually hide the dimensions of the minivan. Also, it is impossible not to note the fashionable stamping on the sidewalls. One of them originates from the foglight sections and smoothly rises, emphasizing the front wheel arches, while the window sill line passes through the door handles and the gas tank hatch.
If we compare the Chrysler Pacifica 2022 in a new body with the original model, then the new-generation minivan received a more sedan-like appearance. From some angles, it looks like an enlarged station wagon. In general, the car has a memorable exterior design that perfectly emphasizes its purpose and technical content.
The Pacifica is elegant outside and practical inside, which makes it one of the best family cars. In advanced trim levels, the interior pleases with quality materials. It’s hard to call the blue design of the instrument panel successful, but it has already become a signature feature of Chrysler.
The buttons on the steering wheel are made of high-quality plastic and are very pleasant to touch, but they lack precision when pressed. The automatic transmission selector is placed on the lower part of the central panel.
Traditionally for Chrysler, the minivan has a system of blind buttons – the volume control, radio settings, and track change are located on the dark side of the steering wheel. The creators did not want to overload the front side of the wheel, but this decision is more than controversial.
The two-tone gamma of the front panel, combined with smooth lines and very high-quality materials, gives a feeling of a European school, although the car image was developed in the US. The panoramic roof with the largest in its class glass area allows all passengers to enjoy natural light.
There is plenty of legroom for the driver and front passenger. Part of it is filled with nightstand-style drawers and a Blueray disc player slot, while the other part is shaped like a “basin” on the floor with a 12-volt outlet and a USB port. The armrest, although large, is shallow, and the secret is that part of its usable volume is given over to a box for rear passengers.
The monitors in the second row fold into the back, like laptops. Next to each screen, there are HDMI, USB ports, and a headphone jack. There are practical pockets under the monitors where you can hide the device. In addition, the UCONNECT multimedia system for the second row supports the installation of applications and games, which can be controlled by touch or remotely.
The last-generation Pacifica has independent suspension, disc brakes, and power steering. As for the engine range, manufacturers believe that the following power plants are ideal for the Chrysler Pacifica:
According to the Chrysler engineers, one battery charge can drive 30 miles. As for the gasoline engine, its fuel economy is 19 city and 28 highway mpg.
