2024 Models Guide: Most Awaited Cars and SUVs

Representatives of the global automobile industry annually offer their customers new car models, promoting bold solutions and the latest technologies. No crises or shortages can completely stop this process. In 2024, we will see many interesting new products, the release of which is eagerly awaited by car enthusiasts in the United States. The new year promises to be rich in premieres in different classes and price categories. We prepared an overview of the most anticipated models coming soon to the US market.

The updated Q8 E-Tron crossover may become the new flagship of Audi in 2024. It will receive  modern design and two variations - a classic body and a coupe-like one. The Audi Q8 e-tron and e-tron Sportback are equipped with a new battery with a larger capacity of 114 kWh (106 kWh useful). This is a 20 percent increase in total capacity and the main reason for a more significant range.

The all-electric BMW iX1 will receive only one version for now - the xDrive30 all-wheel drive with two electric motors. The total power will be 272 hp (with the ability to produce 313 hp for a short time), and a 64.7 kWh battery will ensure its stable operation. The declared autonomous mileage for BMW iX1is 272 miles.

The new Honda ZR-V should occupy a niche between the CR-V and HR-V. Externally, the model is very similar to the HR-V but has smaller dimensions and several all-new features, such as a panoramic roof instead of the classic sunroof. Like many other new products from well-known manufacturers for the 2024 model year, in the future, the presented crossovers will be hybrids. But in the first wave, Honda manufacturers plan to equip the model with a 1.5-liter turbo engine developing 182 hp, as well as a dual-engine CVT.

Hyundai decided not to develop new SUVs for the 2024 model year but simply retouched its new products from last season. Thus, the updated Palisade should enter the market in 2024. Depending on the configuration, the car can be presented in a 7 or 8-seater version. The power unit remains uncontested - a 3.8-liter naturally aspirated V6 GDI, developing power up to 295 hp. The Palisade engine will be coupled to an 8-speed automatics.

In 2024, the Jaguar F-Pace received significant improvements both in design and technical part. The system developed for the P400e plug-in hybrid will have an upgraded battery pack, which will provide an increased range of up to 40 miles (+20%).

The Aston Martin DB12 has already been named the best in the DB series and the entire history of the British brand. The car received a German power plant from Mercedes-AMG. Under the hood of the sports car is a V-shaped four-liter turbocharged eight with a maximum performance of 671 hp. This system allows the car to accelerate from zero to sixty in just 3.5 seconds. Even the DB11, with its 5.2-liter engine, does not have such performance.

The electric modification of the G-Class should appear on the market in 2024, together with other Mercedes-Benz novelties. The prototype of the new SUV has already been presented, but it is difficult to say what its production version will be like. The all-wheel drive G-Class will not only not lose its off-road qualities after switching to electric propulsion but also acquire the characteristic features of a sports AMG because they plan to equip the car with four electric motors - one for each wheel.

In 2024, Toyota will launch a new version of the Tacoma pickup truck. In addition to the 2.7-liter inline and 3.5-liter V6,  Tacoma trucks will also be presented with a hybrid setup, but these modifications will most likely see the light of a day closer to 2025.

It was previously reported that Toyota will present a new 4th generation Land Cruiser Prado SUV in 2023, but the premiere of the new generation has been postponed to the summer of 2024. The SUV will retain the 2.8-liter 200-horsepower turbodiesel of its predecessor. But the gasoline versions will be replaced by a hybrid with a 2.5-liter four and an electric motor. All Prados will receive a new 8-speed automatic transmission.

The Buick brand has given Americans their first official look at the upgraded 2024 Envision. It will be the brand's first model to feature General Motors' Level 2 Advanced Automatic Driver Assistance System (ADAS) Super Cruise. Buick Envision will be equipped with the industry's first highway autopilot, which is familiar with more than 400 thousand miles of roads in the US and Canada.

Under the hood of the all-new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek is a 2.0-liter flat-four engine that produces 152 hp or a 2.5-liter unit with 182 hp. Subaru Crosstrek's engine sends power to all four wheels through a Lineatronic CVT. The new Crosstrek features wheel arches that look almost identical to those of the latest WRX. The chassis now uses an electronic steering rack and is about 10 percent stiffer than its predecessor. Every 2024 Crosstrek comes with Subaru's EyeSight driver assistance package, previously unavailable on manual models.

Nissan has introduced the 2024 model year Nissan Sentra sedan. All 2024 models feature improved fuel efficiency, updated styling, and Nissan Safety Shield 360 as standard. Fuel economy is up slightly, thanks to the updated Xtronic CVT and stop-start technology.

The 2024 Mustang features two new engines—a 2.3-liter EcoBoost and the mighty 5.0-liter Coyote V8 in the Mustang GT Drift Brake that can quickly turn a beginner into a drifting pro. 

The all-new Lexus GX has been introduced on the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 platform. It boasts a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6, a 10-speed automatic transmission, permanent all-wheel drive, and a radically changed design. This is the most considerable update to the Lexus GX in the last 14 years.
