Toyota Land Cruiser 300 looks impressive and massive, but, at the same time, calm and confident. A monumental SUV that doesn’t leave anyone indifferent. The face remained recognizable, but objectively, this is a brand-new car. Smooth lines and neat outlines play in favor of the novelty.

Chevrolet Tahoe looks more brutal and majestic. The body turned out to be somewhat angular, but the car looks well-balanced. If we compare both SUVs with their predecessors, it is evident that Tahoe has made more changes and stepped forward with a bold new design.

According to the main parameters, the Chevrolet Tahoe turned out to be larger than its competitor. Although, the ground clearance is slightly higher for the Japanese SUV. But objectively, this does not affect off-road ability so much.

Inside the Toyota Land Cruiser 300, you expect to see a little more. The quality of the materials does not reach the premium level, which is somewhat strange, given the cost. Ergonomics are decent, but the interior does not evoke bright emotions.

As standard, the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 interior has five seats. But you also find models with a complete set with three rows, where two adult passengers can easily fit in the back.

In a 7-seater configuration, the Cruiser has about 260 liters of space in the trunk. In the 5-seater version, 900 liters, and with the seats lowered, it reaches 1600 liters.

Chevrolet Tahoe frankly looks more interesting, modern, and attractive. There are no complaints about the quality of the materials: everything is at a decently high level. The Chevrolet Tahoe’s interior is designed for 7-8 seats: two comfortable front seats, and a 3-seater in the back suitable even for adult passengers. And the second row can be a bench or two separate seats with a wide range of adjustments.

The trunk of the Chevrolet Tahoe is truly royal. Even if there are 7-8 people in the cabin, there will still be 722 liters of space for luggage. Omitting the third row, you get 2058 liters. And with the 2nd row lowered, you can even count on space of 3480 liters. Of course, there is a clear superiority on the side of the American SUV. The only question is whether you need so much luggage space and three rows of seats .

Let’s start with the Japanese Toyota Land Cruiser 300. Here are the main points:

• the GA-F platform;
• a spar frame made of high-strength steel;
• front independent suspension with double levers;
• dependent rear suspension with longitudinal and transverse levers;
• passive shock absorbers and anti-roll bars by default;
• optionally available adaptive electronically controlled shock absorbers and a system of hydraulic cylinders instead of stabilizers;
• brake system with electro-hydraulic booster and calipers on two pistons;
• rack and pinion steering mechanism with a hydraulic booster and electric motor on the steering column.

The Chevrolet Tahoe responds to this with the following features:

• the GMT-T1XX frame platform;
• high-strength steel grades;
• independent suspension;
• forward double-lever architecture;
• rear multi-link system;
• 3 transverse levers and 1 longitudinal on each suction;
• passive shock absorbers, coil springs, and anti-roll bars;
• optional adaptive chassis or an air suspension with the ability to change the clearance;
• the steering system is based on a rack and pinion mechanism with an electric booster.

As you can see, structurally, the cars differ from each other, although they both represent the category of frame SUVs.

It is hard to name the leader when the choice is between Toyota and Chevy (or GMC). Each car has its strengths and weaknesses. But from the expert point of view, the general conclusion may be as follows:

• Chevrolet Tahoe is perfect for family people with many children, friends, and relatives. You can ride with them in the same car without worrying that the luggage will not fit. If you want a more premium option, also consider the GMC Yukon.
• If you do not need 7-8 seats, then the 5-seat Land Cruiser 300 will be a good solution. The car is stylish and monumental, with good cross-country ability and fairly economical engines.
